Best laid plans and thank goodness for backups!

This morning we were sitting outside our place we are staying on holiday and I was stitching of course.

We decided to go out for a late breakfast. So I started to pack up my stitching, when the husband joked that surely the monkeys don't cross stitch so why am I packing up. So I laughed and told him that they better not and left my stuff out.

We were out for a few hours and when we got back, it had gotten windy, and my working copy was gone. I walked through the long grass and bushes 3 times and nothing. The husband did find the colour key but the rest has gone poof.

This is as far as I have gotten:

Most of the right side is done, I have backstitched almost everything that I can except her wing's which are almost half backstitched.

Luckily I had also packed Hocus Pocus so I will not go nuts with nothing to do. This is what it looks like as of now:

No holiday stitching has been done on it yet.

And lastly here is the view I get to enjoy while stitching and some morning visitors:

Sorry about losing the chart Monique. Thank goodness it was just a working chart. Great progress on both pieces. Loved the pic of your visitors.
